Content from private accounts you already follow is reachable when you sign in with your own Instagram login inside the app. The session stays on your device.
Is it legal to download Instagram videos?

Do I need an Instagram account?

What does the saved Instagram file look like?

Why do some Instagram links stop working after a while?
